Before EMPIRE, Taraji P. Henson’s Throwback Hair Style Way Different from Cookie (VIDEO)

Taraji P. Henson is ripping it up on EMPIRE the latest big hit on Fox as Cookie, the ex-con and ex-wife of music mogul Lucious Lyon, who wants what’s hers after her prison stint ends.

Her style is what you’d expect from a sassy, beautiful woman who never has a problem being in the spotlight or getting her way.

But back in the day….Taraji P. Henson had a much more difficult style to pull off when it came to her hair.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon she shared it all for Throwback Thursday and the way Taraji described it was classic.

“I tried to see how many hairstyle I could fit on one head.” There were at least four you could see in a classic highschool yearbook photo. But wait, there’s more:

“And in the back there’s a rat-tail. So that actually makes five!”  How long ago was photo taken? Ms. Henson began to say back in the ’80s, when she stopped short, trying to substitute the ’90s.

Hey, the truth is that Taraji P. Henson is looking more than fine and has whipped herself into a frenzy of a performance as Cookie.

Tonight on EMPIRE, we get the fallout from Jamal telling his father Lucious to go stuff his money where the sun don’t shine, as he and his boyfriend packed and left the posh apartment daddy pays for.

Jamal insists on being truthful about his sexuality and Lucious called him the “b” word one too many times for his taste.

We also learned that youngest son Hakeem has an older woman lover that he’s kept secret for more than a year. Considering she’s played by model and actress Naomi Campbell, there is no way in the world that relationship is gonna stay on the down low for long.

Lucious is now under suspicion for the death of his friend and Cookie’s cousin Bunkie and that just won’t fly if he wants the IPO for his company to be successful.

EMPIRE airs tonight on Fox at 9 p.m. ET/PT.    Photo credit: Fox  Video credit: NBCUniversal
