THE PROFIT is all new Tuesday night November 17 on CNBC, and Marcus Lemonis gets the opportunity to help Kensington Garden Rooms, a luxury gazebo company located in El Dorado Hills, California.
It’s east of Sacramento, the state capital and sits smack dab in the middle of farming country.
The company’s warehouse is surrounded by almond trees and when Marcus arrives to say hello to the two besties who are at each other’s throats, there is something else he learns, besides the state of the balance sheet.
In the video clip posted below, Lemonis remarks about the location and how remote it is. That’s when he finds out that to use a proper bathroom, the guys have to drive more than a mile down the road.
If you’re a fan of THE PROFIT, you must be aware of Marcus’ three words that begin with the letter “P” that are the building blocks of any successful business. They are, People, Process and Product, to which he jokingly adds “Potty”, something so basic that he never thought he’d have to think of it, never mind suggest it.
Two best friends uprooted their lives in England to start Kensington Garden Rooms, but muted growth and a massive workload have brought their relationship to the breaking point.
The business as well as the relationship of the two men who began it all have degenerated quickly and it brings one of them to tears of frustration.
He’s a proud man who finds himself in a place he never thought he’d be. In the other video preview clip from the episode, listen to him tell Marcus that he thought it would be enough to follow Lemonis’ guiding principles and to emulate his career.
It won’t be the first time on THE PROFIT that Marcus has to help owners get past the embarrassment of failure and to change things about how they think, not just how they act.
