Monte Durham was born to do this. The Bridals by Lori stylist will be with teens this week on TLC’s “Say Yes to the Prom”. Instead of teary brides and overbearing entourages, we have the most grateful bunch of teens you’ve seen in a long time.
While this is the first time cameras followed the lucky prom-goers throughout the process for a reality TV show, TLC is a regular participant in this kind of giving back. For five years, the network has celebrated “Say Yes to the Prom” and each time it grew larger.
You’ll meet young ladies from five different cities around the country who get an opportunity to have the prom of their dreams with extras. Oh yes, this is the ultimate “jacked-up” experience. Monte’s helping with a complete makeover including dress, shoes, accessories, hair and makeup.
But it’s not just for the prom. The lucky girls get to strut their stuff on a runway to show off their new styles. Check out the video preview posted below for some of the action.
To chronicle the entire process, TLC cameras start at each girl’s home, and we get a slice of life to get a feel for what this surprise means. Fans of Theresa Caputo and the “Long Island Medium”, will recognize the technique of knock-and-shock. Get ready for the tears and screams of joy.
