SHARK WEEK Goes Great White Tonight on Discovery Channel; ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Lena Headey Narrates! (Video Preview)

SHARK WEEK is churning on tonight, replacing the usual Tuesday night crabbing of “Deadliest Catch” with a variety of great whites. “Wrath of a Great White Serial Killer” seeks to answer some of the biggest questions we all have about these potentially deadly creatures. And, “Air Jaws: Night Stalker” brings viewers an 8th SHARK WEEK installment; did you know that great whites can hunt successfully in total darkness?

So, get ready; the sharky attitude that is the 28th SHARK WEEK (can you believe it has been that long?) is ready with an evening of great primetime premieres, following a day of fan-favorite encores.

Stay tuned!

A newcomer has taken residence in the waters of the Pacific Northwest… the great white shark. Shark expert Ralph Collier and Brandon McMillian seek answers to the main questions in this case – why are great white sharks traveling so far north and why are these encounters focused on this one particular place?

AIR JAWS: NIGHT STALKER:  Tuesday, June 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

Famed shark photographer Chris Fallows embarks on his 8th Air Jaws adventure with shark expert Jeff Kurr and shark biologist Neil Hammerschlag as they discover how great white sharks hunt in total darkness. Narrated by Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones”), it turns out that great whites can hunt effectively with or without any sun or moonlight – but how do they do that?

And, of course, don’t forget: Award-winning film director, producer, writer and actor Eli Roth (“Inglourious Basterds, “The Green Inferno,” and “Knock Knock”, amongst other projects) returns this summer as host of SHARK WEEK’s hit late-night talk show, “Shark After Dark,” for a second year in a row. Tonight, Anthony Jeselnik joins host Eli Roth, shark cinematographer Jeff Kurr and animal expert Brandon McMillan to discuss diving safety, what is and isn’t dangerous in the sea, and why the case of the Great White serial killer remains unsolved. “Shark After Dark” airs on Discovery Channel tonight at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
