“Cutting It: In the ATL” returns tonight, with “The New Sheriff In Town”, after an explosive and revealing season 2 premiere. It looks like the entrepreneurs of the Atlanta hair scene are about to hit a new high of hate and jealousy. For women who are trying to build their businesses and innovate, they sure spend a lot of time trying to undermine each other.
The underlying tension between Dedra and the rest of the woman began early last season and has not abated. Maja’s dominance in the low-cost weave business produced jealousy, but when she decided to stray into the lane of traffic Mushiya considered her own, the red flag was thrown down.
In the middle of it all, LaKenya can’t seem to get out from under the burden of choosing who will be the best fit to help her grown her new salon. With the hate getting louder, she’s bound to tick off someone. She wants to buy and resell the best hair for weave purposes, but she’s been prevented from doing that because of the competition among the group.
In “The New Sheriff in Town”, a video preview of which is posted below, you get a taste of what you’re in for.
It’s all-Maja, all the time. Pat asserts herself and faces down Maja over who truly invented the $50 weave concept. Dedra turns to radio to help her criticize Maja, by exposing her past, hoping people will stay away from her salons. LaKenya’s new choice threatens her relationship with Maja and Beautii looks to Maja as an investor in Spoiled Opulence Express.
Get the popcorn ready.
