“Married At First Sight: Second Chances” moved into the dating phase. Vanessa picked alone-time dates with three men and engaged in group activities with two groups of five. She observed them carefully and got information to help narrow the field. Who will be the first man eliminated? We’ll have to wait until next week.
The group activities helped Vanessa see who was merely posturing, and who could be what she needed. She’s still got a thing for the 22 year-old Chris, who hangs close to her, sometimes doing what Vanessa is doing: observing the field. However, he couldn’t get the first alone time with Vanessa. That went to Andre (Odell Beckham, Jr. hair guy!) who scaled a wall as others failed.
She’s asking for the kind of man she wants, who takes charge, at least on social occasions and plans things for her. That was advice from the pastor on the show. Yet, both he and Dr. Pepper think Vanessa’s got to cut back on her definition of what a husband is supposed to be and be more open.
Who’s blowing it already? Pooya, who booked out of a group activity to join a pre-arranged race he was signed up for, then didn’t show up the next time, at the Room Escape activity. Also doing himself no favors was Zach, who claims he’s deep, really deep, and couldn’t back it up with any conversation. Then there’s cop Nathan who is always a leader in the group, but may be too much for her taste.
First date: Andre won the honor after scaling a wall in a gym, faster than his competitors. Vanessa feels comfortable enough with him to tell him the kind of man she likes. Vanessa wants someone who takes charge of social occasions. If you ask her out, show up on time and have plans so she isn’t always put on the spot. Andre showed up dressed nicely and the two
There’s more and more chemistry between them and Vanessa seems to be very comfortable with him. They took salsa dancing lessons, and despite him stepping on her toe, she had lots of fun, but…he left her hanging. Vanessa admitted that after the date she was ready for more intimate time. She was thinking private time of the real kind. Strike one against Andre?
Second date: Shannon was delighted to take the along time with Vanessa. They went to an amusement park, but it wasn’t all jokes. Vanessa has begun to see his other qualities as he reveals more to her, taking a chance.
Third date: Nathan was chosen, because Vanessa sees that he might be an early elimination for her. At dinner, their conversation again gave her pause to wonder about him. He claims he doesn’t believe in gender roles that require strict adherence, but he keeps making it sound like he does.
Who do you like best so far for Vanessa and who will get eliminated first?
