“The Vanilla Ice Project” returns for its seventh season, Saturday night July 15 on DIY Network. The man known as the pop icon Vanilla Ice, given name Rob VanWinkle, has been transforming homes for a long while, and tonight, he finds a new spot for his projects.
In the premiere episode, “Commotion by the Ocean” Vanilla Ice and his team hit Florida’s Treasure Coast. In store for them is a large, very large home that ultimately gets transformed into a modern Polynesian retreat, right on the waterfront. The structure is in horrible shape, so the rehab is a tough one. The team takes pride in taking dilapidated homes and recreating them.
“The Vanilla Ice Project” is about flipping homes for sale, and in a recent interview on the Dan Patrick Show, VanWinkle told the sports host that he does it for the love of the work. There’s also a handsome profit at the end of a perfectly executed restoration, of course, and the man has used his own money to fund projects.
In the new season, there will be 13 episodes following the team as it takes on this huge endeavor by the ocean. The network calls it “…his most colossal and lavish renovation to date.” The man at the head of the team has imagination for everyone, as he envisions and the team executes the project that includes a rocket ship play space, an indoor hibachi grill room and a custom pool
“This season we’re going to bring the bling,” said Vanilla Ice. “There’s no problem too big, no details too small, and it’s guaranteed to be one heck of a ride!” Believe him my friends, believe him!
