Get ready for the season finale of “Mr. Mercedes” Wednesday night Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. et, ’cause it’s as good as you hoped it would be. Ret. Det. Bill Hodges suspects that the Mercedes killer, Brady Hartsdale didn’t die in the conflagration that burned down his home. Despite what appeared to be his body and that of his mother, lying together in her bed before the place when up in flames, Hodges believes Brady could have staged it.
Of course, Hodges’ ex-partner wants it to be over and tries to coax Bill into believing it. Luckily, for once, someone thinks Hodges might be on to something and the race begins to narrow down where Brady might strike next. In the preview of the season finale, posted below, Hodges looks like he’s zeroed in on the deranged young man. Who wins? Stay tuned…
As we prepare for tomorrow’s finale, contemplate this breaking news. “Mr. Mercedes” just got the greenlight for a second season. How is that possible? Here’s the explanation in the press release.
“The second season will be based on King’s best-selling Bill Hodges Trilogy, which includes, “Mr. Mercedes,” “Finders Keepers” and “End of Watch. Returning for the second season will be television veterans David E. Kelley (Big Little LIes, Ally McBeal) to write the script and Jack Bender (Lost, Under the Dome) as director. King, Kelley and Bender will also continue to serve as executive producers, along with Dennis Lehane, who will also write.”
“I’m excited and thrilled,” said Kelley. “Stephen King, Dennis Lehane, Jack Bender, Brendan Gleeson…this is a special team indeed.” Filming on location in South Carolina begins in early 2018 with ten episodes airing later that year. Miss any of season one? “Mr. Mercedes” season 1 episodes are available OnDemand on DIRECTV and U-verse platforms to DirecTV and U-verse customers.
